THE LOYOLA GRADUATE WORKERS' UNION
FIGHTING FOR ALL LUC GRADUATE STUDENTS & WORKERS
We advocate for the needs and rights of all graduate student workers at LUC.
CURRENT KEY ISSUES
Union recognition, COVID-19 resources and support, racial justice initiatives, increased funding, international student rights, access to campus resources, and transparency from LUC administration.
A DEMOCRATICALLY ESTABLISHED UNION SINCE FEBRUARY 8, 2017
LUC graduate workers voted to unionize on February 8, 2017.
OUR WINS
Since 2017, actions and pressure from the LGWU has resulted in increased travel funding, dental insurance coverage, and a $500/year stipend increase. In April 2021, pressure from LGWU has resulted in a 64% increase, or a $10,000 increase, up from $18,000 over nine months.
CONTRACTS, WORKERS' RIGHTS, AND A LIVING WAGE FOR ALL
We believe that ALL workers deserve contracts, workers' rights, and a living wage.
